Performance Hybrid
The LandCruiser 300 Performance Hybrid variants are powered by i‑FORCE MAX - Toyota’s purpose‑built 1‑Motor Hybrid system designed for towing, off‑roading and heavy‑duty performance. This system includes an additional electric motor that enhances power and responsiveness (compared with an equivalent diesel-only model), working seamlessly alongside the internal combustion engine.
A Performance Hybrid pairs a petrol engine with electrification to help boost power delivery and responsiveness. Unlike efficiency-focused hybrids (which are designed primarily to maximise fuel economy), Performance Hybrids are engineered to enhance certain performance characteristics (compared to an equivalent internal combustion-only model). These characteristics are geared towards adventure-focused driving, like acceleration feel, torque response, off-road capability and towing support.
Experience exceptional power, impressive smoothness and the seamless performance of Toyota’s i‑FORCE MAX technology - combining a 3.5L V6 twin‑turbo petrol engine with an electric motor in a single, high‑output system. Together, this delivers a maximum combined output of 341kW and 790Nm of torque.
Performance Hybrid variants kick it up a notch with Electric Power Steering (EPS), delivering greater off‑road precision. The added electric motor also provides instant torque, helping drivers tackle steep obstacles or navigate out of deep ruts with confidence.
An advanced liquid‑cooling system helps manage heat buildup caused by the vehicle’s regenerative braking during high‑performance driving. It ensures consistent electric torque without throttling and allows Crawl Control to operate for longer periods, delivering steady performance when navigating challenging terrain.
Performance Hybrid variants feature a specially tuned transmission designed to take full advantage of the system’s electric motor. This provides instant torque assistance that allows the transmission to hold gears longer for sustained performance, while the electric motor seamlessly fills the gaps between gear changes to deliver smoother, more refined shifts on every drive.
Technology and interior
The Sahara ZX dials up the luxury and sophistication. You’ll find premium features and extra special touches throughout, including jet black front and rear bumpers on the Performance Hybrid variant.

This is the most powerful LandCruiser yet. A 3.3L V6 twin‑turbo diesel engine produces 227kW of power and 700Nm of torque, combined with a 4WD system for a braked towing capacity of 3,500kg
The Sahara ZX diesel features an advanced rear torque‑sensing LSD, so you can rely on consistent and smooth power output when you need it most. The LSD in the Sahara ZX Performance Hybrid is specially tuned to handle the instant torque from the electric motor. This helps ensure that the immediate power doesn’t cause uncontrolled wheel spin.
Every journey in your Sahara ZX will be different and with 5 distinct driving modes to choose from you’ll be able to approach it with the right levels of acceleration response, comfort and control. From ECO all the way through to SPORT S +.
Throughout the Sahara ZX cabin you’ll find touches of pure luxury. Upon entry an illuminated side step makes way for carbon fibre look door trim, centre console and steering wheel. The front two seats and rear outer seats are wrapped in genuine leather and have heating and ventilation with individual control.
