Apollo Bay & Lavers Hill

Now we’re on! This area of the Great Ocean Road is the beginning of the Great Otway National Park, home to many little Aussie legends like echidnas, koalas, and even platypus. Here you can discover breathtaking waterfalls, dense eucalyptus bushland, and historic fern-laden valleys. It doesn’t get much more beautiful than this.

This cosy shorefront town nears the end of the Great Ocean Road. So, stop a while and soak in the gorgeous limestone coastline for one last time. Peterborough offers epic walking trails, secret coves, and calm rivers, with picture-perfect cliffs, offshore islands, ancient gorges, and blowholes.

Peterborough Beach is one of the quieter spots in the area, making it perfect for a family picnic, or if you’re looking to throw in a quick line, the inlet jetties, rocks and the freshwater river are sensational locations for fishing.

Up for one last hike? See the sights from above and tackle the cliff top trail from Peterborough Golf Course through to Halladale Point. Take your time relishing in the natural beauty — it’s sure to stay with you long after you leave.
