The Toyota hat giveaway, a long-held tradition at the annual festival, calls for gold-coin donations for the rural charity, which was immensely appreciative of the support.
Rural Aid co-founder Charles Alder said the donation from Toyota would help the charity to provide a range of services for those in the bush that are going through hardship.
"Our Disaster Assistance program provides fodder, domestic drinking water and financial assistance to farmers," Mr Alder said.
"Our Farm and Community Rescue program sees thousands of volunteers give their time to support rural communities, while the Gift of Music program and our on-going work providing counselling services to remote communities all require funds, so every dollar counts.
"Toyota has been a truly valued partner, raising more than $270,000 last year through the Raffle for Resilience and 2019 Toyota Country Music Festival, and we appreciate the additional funds that many Australia's country folk have contributed this year," he said.
Lucky myToyota competition winner Scott Fabbian, accompanied by his wife Susan, was just one country music fan who did his bit by buying a hat.
After winning the myToyota Toyota Country Music Festival competition, which was part of an assortment of myToyota Summer Rewards in December 2019, Scott and Susan were treated to the VIP treatment at the event.
Scott says he didn't believe it when he found out he was the winner.
“My reaction at first was I was disbelief, when I heard the voicemail message. I thought one of my mates was tricking me!”
However, he had no trouble choosing who to take with him.
“I brought my wife with me, because if I didn’t I’d be in trouble!" he said.
"Seriously, though, we like to share our adventures and love to travel to great events in Australia."
“As a career truck driver, I like all types of music but country is one of my favourite genres, and many times country music had helped me make it through the day or night.
“Tamworth is a great place that turns on a great festival, the townspeople are very welcoming, and I get the feeling they really love to host the festival.
“The Golden Guitar awards were the highlight of the festival. It was great to see so many awesome Australian artists live on stage.
"It was amazing to meet and have a photo with Jayne Denham at the after-party - she's one of my long-time favourite female artists.
"Seeing Lee Kernaghan and Gina Jeffreys, who sang ‘Cash’ near us on the forward stage, was incredible, and watching Joy McKean get her second Roll of Renown award was very moving.
“As a big bonus, we got to see the Burrumbuttock Hay Runners drive past the front of the Powerhouse Hotel on the way to the Armidale area to supply hay to the farmers who are doing it tough - Troy Cassar Daley even came out to watch the trucks come past!
